Living with Consciousness (KB)

Although we come into this world with a certain destiny, we are not indefinitely bound to it. Indeed, as we move through the journey of our lives, we are given choices to make, and through those choices the possibility of experiencing different “cassettes,” if you will. If we take a certain road, we get one cassette. If we go another way, we get another cassette.

We don’t have to be a tsaddik (righteous person) to change the cassette of our lives. What we do need, however, is an awareness of our power and our responsibility—an awareness that our consciousness is living matter and every thought we give energy to, every word we speak, and every action we take, is a determining factor of what we will experience and where we will go next.

This understanding brings us to a realization that is so simple, yet so profound: One of the most powerful ways to change our life is to make a difference in the life of someone else. Kindness is transformative, both for the person extending it and for the person receiving it.

A willingness to go a little out of our way to help another person can help our own reality a lot.
