At this time of great awakening and awareness, the most important shift that can take place is for humankind to realize that our behavior and the behavior of the atoms that make up our physical being are ruled and motivated by a single flow of consciousness. Just as space can come between us and other people in the world, space can also come between the atoms in our bodies. How we interact with each other reflects how the atoms of our organs, tissues, and cells interact with one another. Any thought, word, or deed that is in opposition to the Lightforce of Creation simultaneously creates separation on the molecular level. We can fall prey to disease and negativity when we disassociate our being from the energy of the Light, and succumb to fear, doubt, anger, hatred, or any other negative forces. From this perspective, becoming a sharing, caring, and loving person is not about being "good" or "righteous." It is not about living up to an obligation of "I should" do this or that. Rather, to be a being of true sharing is about aligning ourselves with the Lightforce of the Creator because when we divert our energy from this Force, we create an opening for negativity to enter. The Light is always present, and when we attune ourselves to it and act accordingly, all the molecules that make up our being work together harmoniously. At the core, that is what this Lag Ba'Omer is all about. The vision of Rabbi Shimon is a world in which no man will need to teach his neighbor anymore, for all will know the glory of the Creator. To reach this goal, you, I, and all of us on this spiritual path, need to direct our efforts toward living in constant awareness of the Divinity that is within us and within all other beings. Each one of us needs to be able to love our dearest friend the way the Creator loves the people who don't even believe that He exists. On this special day, I ask that we focus our hearts and minds on being a force of this kindness: To give of ourselves, to be careful about what comes out of our mouths, and to refrain from judging others, so that with the support and energy of Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai, we can sew a web of unity throughout all the countries of the world. |
