Warm Your Heart (KB)

After Jacob steals the birthright from his brother, Esau, his mother, Rebecca, advises him to run away. Before he leaves, she tells him, “When your heart turns warm towards your brother, you will know that his heart has warmed towards you.”

For us, this is a very big lesson. How do you know when other people have lost their distrust, anger, or dislike for you after you have had an argument or a disagreement with them? The answer is that when your heart is warm towards them, chances are that they feel the same way towards you.

Today, make an effort to wash the residue of anger, hatred, and judgment from your heart. Recognize where and how you feel you have been wronged and then ask the Creator to remove these negative reactions from you, thus eliminating the necessity of continuing to experience the situation that brought them about.

The universe is a mirror, and when you sincerely try to cleanse and open your own heart to others, you will find yourself living in a reality where others also open their hearts to you.
