Oftentimes, instead of striving to be who we are, we strive for some idea we have of perfection. We see in our mind’s eye what we think we need and who we think we are, and we go for it. But the truth is that God doesn’t expect us to be perfect. After all, He has the angels for that. They do everything He tells them to do, and on top of that, they sing all day. No, God doesn’t need us to fit the “perfect” bill. What He does ask of us, however, is that we be who we are and we do what we need to do: to recognize that we have each been granted certain gifts and that we have, through the Divine Energy that is within us, the ability to share those gifts for the benefit of others. |
