There was once a man who was told that God would be revealed to him during the night. Thrilled at this incredible prospect, he rushed home in eager anticipation. On the way, he found a boy who was lost, and although he was in a hurry, the man stopped and helped the youngster find a familiar road. A few steps later, he saw a starving beggar. Again, instead of brushing by, he stopped and gave the poor man something to eat. When the man finally reached his house, he sat down and awaited the revelation of the Creator as he had been promised. An hour passed and nothing happened. Another hour passed...then another and another. Just before he gave up hope, the man cried out, "God!! What happened to the promise? Where are You?” To that, the Creator answered, "What do you mean? I was with you tonight. I was in the boy and I was in the beggar." This week as we gather together for Rosh Hashanah, let's remember that the Creator often comes to us in the form of someone we can help or a situation in which we can be of service. These little encounters are our opportunities to build our Light, to bolster our protective shield, to give us the strength to remember that we are totally capable of rising above our circumstances, now and for the year to come. |
Our Calling: BEING and living together, as ONE; Spreading LOVE across the globe, as ONE; SERVING the universe, as ONE; BEING at ONE with nature with a Loving Family...and so it IS..Amen! This or Something better..Thank You, in advance, for what will BE.
