Pesach 2015: Rising to The Tree of Life (KB)

When we talk about escaping from Egypt, we are talking about freeing ourselves from the inside-out, so that we can walk lighter, love more, and participate in this universal process of spreading this Light of peace in the world through our own transformation and consciousness.

But what is it that keeps us locked into the realm of physicality— the mundane material world, filled with tremendous difficulty—and separates us from the dimension of spirit, of the Tree of Life?

The answer is our limited vision. It is the “Me,” the “My,” the “I“—the part of us that sees only one side of the picture, “my side.” It is not our natural inclination to peer into someone else’s soul and truly care about them. Our natural inclination is to focus on other’s faults, on what we see that is wrong. Our eyes capture more of what is not there then what is. The problem with this way of seeing is that it leads us to a way of being that ultimately robs us of happiness and removes any quality from the quantity of our lives.

Last night, we received the energy to battle and win against this “Me,” “My,” and “I,” which separates us from the “We” and the spirituality we seek. Over the next six days, the Creator imbues us with the raw energy we need to grasp the Tree of Life so that for this year we can rise above whatever happens in our lives, and so that our consciousness can hover just above the tumult, unscathed by that which will attempt to find us and take us down.

As we toil to hold onto and climb the branches of this magnificent Tree of Life, we elevate ourselves and thereby elevate the world.
