Hearing the One Voice (OM)

Taking Counsel in a Circle
The use of a talking stick during counsel assures every voice is heard fully without interruption.

When we sit in a circle together and share our thoughts and feelings, we participate in a powerful, unifying practice whose origins stem from the very beginning of human time. All early cultures practiced some form of this ritual, which gives each individual in the group a voice, and at the same time reveals the one voice, and the ultimate unity, of the group. This profound and simple way of talking and listening has experienced a modern rebirth in counseling, social work, and spirituality.

Most circles benefit from the presence of a leader who opens the circle by calling in angels, spirit guides, and ancestors - beings of light who will be present with those taking counsel. The leader may announce a theme for the circle, or one may simply evolve from the unstructured expressions of each participant. The circle continues for as long as feels right, at which point the leader may summarize what has been said, perhaps leading everyone in a moment of silence before the circle disbands. One of the most powerful components of this work is the talking stick, which can be any object - a crystal, a flower, or a candle - that is passed around the circle from person to person. The person holding the object speaks until he has fully expressed his feelings, and no one else interjects, interrupts, or even responds until they are holding the stick. This enables people who have a hard time speaking out to express long buried feelings and points of view. This is powerful because in a community it is often what is not said or acknowledged that causes the most pain and suffering.

The circle, which contains no hard edges or angles, is the ideal container for these difficult truths. As we hear the many perspectives the subject at hand inspires, we begin to see that our individual truth is just one of many. Our own hard edges begin to soften as the circle flows from one person to the next, and each wave of words cleanses us of one more layer of mental and emotional armor, freeing us to be closer to the people around us. Try using counsel during your next family meeting, school class, or any setting where you feel a centering communication method is needed.

You are Godlike (KB)

In understanding who we are it is important to know, first of all, that we are Godlike. Without that knowing, it is impossible for us to give Light to others or even to bring Light into everything we do. The moment we accept that our being, who we are, is the flow of Light, we tune into that flow and everything around us is illuminated.

One way to connect to and share the Light is to say a sincere “Good morning” to someone, even if we don’t feel great and things aren’t going the way we think they should go. This is one small way that we can share our Light and build our love.

Today, take a moment to stop what you are doing and take a few deep breaths. Appreciate the eyes you have been given to see the beauty around you, and feel your heart beating in your chest. Observe the breath that flows in an out of you without you even doing anything. Then, tuck this appreciation into your being and go on with your day with love in your heart.

On this day of your life

On this day of your life,

Neytiri & Jake, I believe God wants you to know...

...that earthly possessions are not what you came here
to gather.

Do not worry about your earthly possessions. Place
your attention on your heavenly goal--the evolution of
your soul--and you will find peace even while on earth.

You will not have to think but a second to know
exactly why you received this message today.

Money

"Capital, as such, is not evil; it is its wrong use that is evil." - Mohandas K. Gandhi

I am not afraid to say I am concerned for my prosperity -not just in terms of health, friendship, and employment but also in terms of money. For years, I wanted to have the best and not shortchange myself, and I felt guilty. In sobriety, I know I deserve the best. Money, prosperity, and capital are not bad in themselves; it is how I use them that matters. Today, as promised in recovery, things are getting better, and I am able to invest and buy wisely. I am able to appreciate and share my monetary benefits. Family, friends, and the needy can genuinely share my prosperity: The more I give away today, the more I get.

May I always use the gift of money responsibly.

Cooperation (OM)

Acting Together for Good
Cooperation is allowed to flow more easily when we let go of the necessity to be right all the time.

Cooperation seems simple: working together toward a common goal for the benefit of all involved. But amazingly it can be quite challenging, even when we have so many successful examples all around us. Human society is based upon the concept of cooperation, but finding a balance to ensure the good of all members of society is difficult. In nature, symbiotic relationships form between unlikely allies: a bee and a flower, a bird and a rhinoceros, small fish and sharks. Yet nature also shows us instances of constant competition in which only the strongest survive. Given the choice, it seems most people would choose the more peaceful path of cooperation. Intellectually, we know that together we can create something greater than what one could do alone, but cooperation still seems to be one of the greatest challenges people face. We don’t always agree on how goals can be reached. Our priorities may be different, or our methods, but in the end, cooperation offers the best chance for success.

So how can we learn to cooperate with each other? We can gain greater perspective by trying to understand one another’s point of view, perhaps even putting ourselves in their place. We can search for commonalities as well as differences, and look for the good in different approaches. There is always more than one way of doing things, and some approaches are better suited for certain situations than others. All this is easier when we let go of the necessity to be right and to call others wrong. More important, we must believe that there is a solution that benefits all involved, not just one side.

The results of cooperation can be as simple as effortlessly getting everyone in your household to their appointments to large-scale social shifts to changing minds and hearts or policies that affect the future.

Check Your Intention (KB)

We need to always ask ourselves, “How is what I’m about to do going to affect others? If we are trying to motivate a person to act in a certain direction, is it simply because we want him to see things the way we do so we can feel right? Is our action a sharing action that also respects the space and process or others?”

We always need to check the intention behind our actions and make sure that what we’re doing is coming from a place of Light. Are we thinking only about ourselves alone? Or are we thinking about how we can benefit others and/or the whole?

On this day of your life

On this day of your life,

Neytiri & Jake, I believe God wants you to know...

...that fear is one of the main sources of cruelty. To
conquer fear is the beginning of wisdom.

Bertrand Russell said that, and he was right.
Elisabeth Kubler-Ross said, "Fear and guilt are the only
enemies of man." She was right, too.
And Franklin Roosevelt famously said,
"The only thing we have to fear
is fear itself."

Freedom

Freedom is the right of every human being. -Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.

Spirituality is a choice. Recovery is a choice. Living the life that says Say Yes to Your Spirit is a choice. All the above happens because we make it happen-the power of being human-and it brings freedom. This freedom is also a choice. The poets, who write during times of persecution, tell us that you can throw people in prison, torture them, chain them, separate them from loved ones, but you cannot take away the freedom that lives in their souls. Having this attitude is a choice. It is a choice to believe in the all-encompassing entity called spirituality. It is a choice to dance in God. - Leo Booth

Today I choose freedom.

Creating a Garden Sanctuary (OM)

A Refuge of Your Own
A personal outdoor sanctuary is an important part of feeling connected to all of life.

Each of us has been blessed with an innate need to celebrate and glorify life. At a most basic level, we honor the forces that came together to bring us into being by caring for our bodies and our souls. To truly rejoice in existence, we must also learn to cultivate loveliness in those special places that replenish the soul. When we create a garden sanctuary, we are reminded that we are a part of both nature's essence and something more. An outdoor retreat is a place we can surround ourselves in nature, beauty, and the life force. It is not difficult to create a sanctuary—we should endeavor, however, to create sanctuaries that speak to us as individuals.

Whether we have a yard, a grassy corner, a patio, or a porch at our disposal, our creative potential is infinite. Any of these spaces can become a magnificent garden. When we feel drawn to specific themes such as Zen, angels, paradise, or the ethereal, we should explore them. Décor and furniture crafted from natural materials like wood and stone blend seamlessly into nature. Yet we can also augment the natural world by filling our garden sanctuaries with statues, bells or gongs, or colorful flags. Running water, like that in a created stream or fountain, helps energy flow smoothly. If space is a concern, crystals and mirrors can fulfill the same function. Hidden features like concealed swings and reflecting pools veiled in shadow can surprise and delight. As your garden sanctuary evolves, remember to invite the elemental spirits of nature to assist you in your efforts to create a small pocket of harmony, beauty, and peace in your own backyard. If you have not already felt their presence, sit quietly in your garden and reach out to them. You will feel these earthly guides at your side as you continue to develop your sanctuary.

In the refuge of brilliant color, sweet scents, and stillness you create in your garden, the burdens imposed upon you by a sometimes hectic world will melt away. The splendor and tranquility of what you have brought into being will entrance you, allowing you to forget the constraints of time and space. No matter how large or small your garden sanctuary, the time you spend reveling in its pleasures will refresh your spirit and provide you with innumerable opportunities to celebrate life.

The Omer: Week 4, Netzach (KB)

We have entered the fourth of the seven weeks of the Omer, corresponding to the Sefira of Netzach, which channels the energy of victory and endurance into the universe. The chariot for this energy is Moses, and we see this in the Bible when it says that in the fight between the Israelites and the nation of Amalek, Moses stood on a nearby hill and controlled the course of battle by raising or lowering his hands. (Exodus 17:11) Victory, in effect, was literally in his arms. Moses was given the job of receiving the Torah at Mount Sinai, because it was through his tremendous spiritual effort and endurance that he achieved total understanding.

The Rav tells us that the energies of the ten Sefirot are found in certain precious and semiprecious stones, specifically those mentioned in the Torah in connection with the High Priest’s breastplate. The ability of those stones to reflect the light of their different colors represents their ability to transmit the metaphysical power of the Sefirot. Today, we see the energy force in these stones in science: the hardness of the diamond, the light-emitting properties of the ruby being used in lasers, and the constant vibratory quality of quartz used in watches and clocks.

The energy of Netzach, which is the victory brought about by the unification of The Desire to Receive and The Desire to Share into The Desire to Receive for the Sake of Sharing, became consolidated in the stone called tarnish, better known as topaz. Topaz is recognized for its healing properties, and its molecular vibration is said to aid in releasing stuck energy and in connecting to personal truth.

Netzach and topaz correspond to the third chakra, the solar plexus. When this chakra is balanced, we feel self-respect, acceptance, and inner strength. Imbalances in this chakra give rise to self-esteem issues and fears of rejection and criticism.

This week, we can focus on cultivating the inner strength and fortitude of Netzach to triumph over our inner blockages, and thus come closer to becoming the beacon of Light for others that we are intended to be.

We are all a part of the energy of the Light Force of the Creator, and therefore we all have the power to change that which is dark into Light.

Most important is to remember that whatever spiritual path we are on and whatever our course of study, our primary purpose is to advance the cause of unity, not separation; the cause of human dignity, not degradation; and the cause of respectful treatment, not the humiliation of our fellow human beings. This is what it means to be truly victorious, to draw the light of the Sefira of Netzach.

On this day of your life

On this day of your life,
Neytiri & Jake, I believe God wants you to know...

...that life is about your soul, not about your body and
not about your mind.

Most people work hard to keep the body happy. Then
they seek to stimulate their mind. Then...if there is time...
they look after their soul. Yet the most beneficial priority
has it just the other way around.

When was the last time you paid attention to your soul?

Thought

If you want to truly understand something, try to change it. -Kurt Lewin

This saying makes you ponder. It is a thought that challenges us to think outside of the box. It forces us into explanation. You cannot really change something without first understanding what it is you want to change. You probably want to change something because you don't agree with it or you think that you have a better solution. And so you really need to understand what it is you want to change. I am an alcoholic.Only after years of trying to change my behavior and attitude concerning alcohol have I eventually come to an understanding of alcoholism: the denial, manipulation, sarcasm, family history, and mood swings. My efforts at change produced a profound understanding.

I cannot change without thinking.

Control (OM)

Letting the Curves Take You
The answer to control is practicing surrender.

Trying to maintain control in this life is a bit like trying to maintain control on a roller coaster. The ride has its own logic and is going to go its own way, regardless of how tightly you grip the bar. There is a thrill and a power in simply surrendering to the ride and fully feeling the ups and downs of it, letting the curves take you rather than fighting them. When you fight the ride, resisting what’s happening at every turn, your whole being becomes tense and anxiety is your close companion. When you go with the ride, accepting what you cannot control, freedom and joy will inevitably arise.

As with so many seemingly simple things in life, it is not always easy to let go, even of the things we know we can’t control. Most of us feel a great discomfort with the givens of this life, one of which is the fact that much of the time we have no control over what happens. Sometimes this awareness comes only when we have a stark encounter with this fact, and all our attempts to be in control are revealed to be unnecessary burdens. We can also cultivate this awareness in ourselves gently, by simply making surrender a daily practice. At the end of our meditation, we might bow, saying, “I surrender to this life.” This simple mantra can be repeated as necessary throughout the day, when we find ourselves metaphorically gripping the safety bar.

We can give in to our fear and anxiety, or we can surrender to this great mystery with courage. When we see people on a roller coaster, we see that there are those with their faces tight with fear and then there are those that smile broadly, with their hands in the air, carried through the ride on a wave of freedom and joy. This powerful image reminds us that often the only control we have is choosing how we are going to respond to the ride.

The Bond that Lasts (KB)

We can bind together through the pathway of spirituality. Only this bond between people lasts; everything else in the material world deteriorates.

Like the light of the candle, our inner Light doesn't diminish as we share with others. In fact, the more candles that are lit in a darkened room, the brighter it is for all.

By extending ourselves in kindness and human dignity, we can light the candle of the person next to us, strengthen the bonds between us, and reveal the miracle of Divine Energy in this world.

Greatness

"The ability to accept responsibility is the measure of the individual." - Roy L. Smith

My greatest insight into life is that I am responsible. My responsibility is an important and dignified gift from God. My responsibility reveals my involvement in God's creation, in my life, and in my recovery from alcoholism. Greatness is in the choices I make, and my choices come with God's gift of freedom. Human beings are more than puppets on a string or automated machines. We are creative creatures who carry the burden and joy of responsibility. Along with coming to terms with my alcoholism, I also accepted the responsibility to remain sober in my decisions and lifestyle. Such is greatness.

Thank You for giving me the responsibility to cocreate.

What Is Epigenetics?

A couple of weeks ago, I had the most wonderful evening …
I went to see Bruce Lipton live.
Bruce Lipton is an internationally recognized leader in bridging science and spirit. He is a stem cell biologist, bestselling author of The Biology of Belief and recipient of the 2009 Goi Peace Award.
I love his work, as well as Joe Dispenza’s, as my healing model correlates strongly with both of their work.
Today in my article I want to talk about “Epigenetics.”
You may have never heard the word before …
There are many longer version meanings of the word – but to simplify Bruce Lipton’s description is: “control above the genes”.
You may wonder what on earth does this have to do with narcissistic abuse.
I believe it has a lot to do with it – because it allows us to move beyond being victims of abuse.
It also allows us to realise what we do have the power to change, and what we don’t have the power to change – and how changing our life for real needs to happen.
This science is about how the environment modifies and generates gene activity. This is exciting evolutionary information, and epigenetics is now one of the most active areas of scientific research.
I adore that science and spirituality are now coming together. And what I mean by this is: science is now backing up what spiritualists / self-development advocates espouse – that we are capable of transcending our previous self and life regardless of the families we were born into and the circumstances we have endured.

Darwin and Newton Versus Epigenetics

It’s fascinating when we go back through history and understand what the old science models were teaching us.
Darwin spoke about “survival of the fittest.” He granted us the version of a dog eat dog world. This was a model of separation, and even narcissism – meaning that we had to compete for stuff, resources, significance and love … and if we were not strong enough or able to outsmart the opposition that we would be delegated to the bottom of the food chain.
Darwin’s model also stated that we were all predisposed to “be” a certain way –that we inherited our parent’s genes, which controlled the circumstances of our life.
Regarding the argument of nature versus nurture, there was a strong lean towards nature. DNA was supposed to be responsible for not only our aesthetic acquisitions, but also our emotions and behaviour.
Sadly this model has been put to big use by humankind. The beliefs of separation, narcissism, “war” and helpless victimisation – leading to blaming and shaming people and circumstances outside of us for the state of our life.
There was no scope in this model to evolve. There was also not a tendency to strive for harmony and holistic connection to ourselves, our planet and others.
This made it very difficult to create ourselves anew as higher version of ourselves, on micro or macro levels.
This article certainly does not lend me the platform to grant you the full depth of Bruce Lipton’s findings, and as such I highly recommend reading “The Biology of Belief” where Bruce has painstakingly provided the scientific evidence which blows the old Darwinian theory out of the water.
This is huge … really. Because it changes the entire concept of humankind.
Literally – I am not exaggerating.
We can all stay stuck in the old redundant model if we want – but if we look around us we have to admit it’s not working.
Epigenetics is also a model of Quantum Science – a highly complex holistic model of life as opposed to a Newtonian linear model. What is so interesting about Quantum Physics, as Bruce so aptly points out in his book, is that every area of technology which has leapt light years ahead is based on Quantum Physics principals; yet our medical and psychological systems (specific humanity) have not yet been updated.
Epigenetics is the understanding that cells are influenced by their environment, and that they are not predisposed. Bruce Lipton discovered that when stem cells were put into petri dishes containing different environmental fluid that they would develop into bone, fat and other human compositions depending on the environment they were subject to.
As he wrote in his book “The Biology Of Belief” … “ if single cells are controlled by their awareness of their environment so too are we trillion-celled human beings. Just like a single cell, the character of our lives is determined not by our genes but by our responses to the environmental signals that propel life.”
This is really interesting because he discovered that the composition of cells would alter according to an individual’s perception of their environment.
What we discover, when we become self-actualized, is that we don’t have control over other people and things – but we absolutely do have control over ourselves. At a profound self-development level when we decide to change our own cellular chemistry as a result of changing our perceptions, we discover that life in our experience shifts to reflect that.
At the time of Brice Lipton’s stem-cell realisation – when he understood what the ramifications meant for humankind to create a better humanity – he wrote: “I was exhilarated by the new realization that I could change my beliefs. I was instantly energised because I realised that there was a science-based path that would take me from my job as a perennial “victim” to my new position as a ‘co-creator’ of my destiny.”
This is exactly the mission I am so excited about too – for myself personally and for a new model of humanity.
I’d going to talk about that in this article, as well as how epigenetics relates to narcissistic abuse.

Transcending From the Old Into the New

One of the most fascinating things I have learned on my healing path, and whilst working with thousands of other people also healing from abuse patterns, is the power of old programs.
We took on the ways our parents and our parent’s parents did things.
Absolutely this was to do with nature and nurture.
I agree with Darwin from this perspective: we did take on stuff- absolutely. Bruce Lipton also points this out … however we are not stuck in it. We can evolve beyond it.
The world we live in has changed at an incredibly fast rate over the last 50 years. As an example: only in our generation is it common for women to have their own source of income. Our mothers were not usually living this model, and even less so their mothers.
Now, naturally there is no differentiation regarding “having a career” between a female or male child we are raising. In no shape or form would we have our female child leave school and do home duties because her only role would be a mother and wife.
It wasn’t until the late 1800’s early 1900’s that woman had a right to vote, and a right to property, money and even their children in the event of dissolution of their marriages. Until that time it was common for women who had marriages end to have to prostitute themselves to survive. Many women didn’t survive.
Some time ago I watched a documentary about my home town Melbourne where single mothers in the late 1800’s were drowning their babies in the Yarra river because they could not feed them.
No-one would employ these women.
Can we believe that in supposed civilised countries this went on only a little over 100 years ago?
Can we believe that not so long before that, if a woman was thrown out of “the hut” this was a virtual death sentence because she couldn’t hunt or work and provide for herself? At the very least it was highly likely that she would be raped and assaulted because she didn’t have a man to protect her.
Logically, we know conditions are not like this now in civilised countries (sadly in some countries they still are), but have we really been able to evolve cellularly in just a few decades?
This I know: The collective pain body of “women” is still shattered.
No less than the collective pain body of many indigenous species, including Australian Aboriginals, as a result of their treatment from first settlers.
I have found time and time again (and these were big issues for me personally) the powerful beliefs deep in a woman’s subconscious of “Without him I am dead” because “I can’t generate life on my own”… as well as “Without a strong man I am not safe”.
I have done Quanta Freedom Healing sessions with myself and other women – even incredibly financially successful and capable women, who when feeling into and identifying the deep core wounds revealed exactly those excruciating crippling beliefs.
Beliefs that were playing out as emotional panic and obsession keeping them chained to abusive partners.
Any man was better than no man.
(I know that many of your reading this will relate to having emotions that just don’t seem proportionate to the real life situation).
And please guys out there – do know that I know the fear of abandonment is not just applicable to women!
However, the big one for guys is usually not so much “abandonment” as “not being good enough” – not providing enough, not winning enough, and not keeping his woman and children prosperous, happy or satisfied enough,
Lightning speed evolution towards relationships of equality, shared tasks, feminine power and mutuality has not allowed the DNA of men in our age bracket to cope and update. Yet when we look at the young men, my son’s age and younger, we see how beautifully they model “equality” so much easier.
In the old model Darwinian model women just lucked out – we weren’t pretty enough, slim enough, smart enough or sexual enough to make our relationships work. Someone else more capable, smart and desirable than us can make it work so much better than us.
According to the Darwinian Model – if a man didn’t have it going on he failed. You weren’t good enough and someone else who is good enough gets the successful job, the girl, the great family to carry on your name, the accolades and the riches.
Additionally you are a victim of your genetics. If you are depressed and inhibited in life, it is because of the makeup you inherited from your parents. And then the Newtonian linear model steps in, looking at the part of the chain that is not working (depression) and attempting to solve that part of the chain – seeing it as a separate issue or event.
Unfortunately this has led to a legacy of attempting to treat symptoms without addressing the cause, which is no more effective than attempting to eradicate cancer when the reason for cancer developing in the first place is never addressed.
In the epigenetics model we have a lot more hope. It is a holistic Quantum level understanding of the interconnectedness of all things, and the holistic approach to actual causation that is creating manifested results.
Through epigenetics we have the understanding that we can transcend our patterns, we can change ourselves and we can then change our life.
We can go beyond what we have experienced previously.
This is exciting, and it is exactly the model of Thriving after narcissistic abuse that I subscribe to, teach and personally live.
I have personally experienced what it is to be liberated from the old DNA programs that so many people can get snagged in – which used to agonisingly run my life – and I have had the absolute joy of now helping thousands of other people, men and women transcend these too.
This I know 100% … we can revolutionise who we used to be with the understanding of the epigenetics model.

A Deeper Look at Survival Programs

The examples I gave before of women feeling like they will literally die if a partner leaves them are what I call “survival programs”.
There are so many that can get triggered if we have matching wounding in our DNA.
I really want to talk about those in greater depth with you today …
This following information is very relevant in regard to our reactions to narcissistic abuse, and it is very relevant in regard to what we need to transcend in order to reclaim ourselves.
Some time ago survival programs were very necessary.
We needed surges of adrenaline and cortisol to kick in, so that blood could drain temporarily from all areas of our body that could do without it (brain and organs) for extra power to surge to our limbs for fight or flee – and so that our cognitive mind would shut down in order for pure survival instinct to take over.
It was a great short term solution to get up a tree quickly if a predator ran at you.
In survival programs, when we are in high range beta brainwave, and when we are filled with cortisol and adrenaline, we get that surge of “fight or flee” … but unless we have a predator and a tree, what is really required is calm thinking, planning and creating (healthy cognitive thinking).
But at this time we have become really “unintelligent” – the parts of our brain which could have access to solutions and inspiration are shut down. Our thinking is primitive, regressive, fearful and completely personalised.
All we have access to is: “My body is unsafe –  it is all about me (victim) and I need to get safe NOW.”
We panic, and unless it is only a short term “thing”, that is then “over”, the anxiety does not leave us and we have no outlet to solutions and better feelings to relieve it.
Beta brainwave is highly destructive for long term health –  because cortisol and adrenaline without “Phew that’s over”, trigger off feelings of non-relief … the helplessness, fear, devastation, feelings of loss, fear of more devastation and loss, as well as extreme confusion and heightened feelings of being unsafe in the present and the future.
(Hello C-PTSD.)
All of these powerful surging emotions create peptide addiction. The bigger the surge of emotion, the more the cells of the body become addicted to them. This then creates obsession – the logical mind trying to “beat” these subconsciously driven programs (emotions).
Obsession is highly unsuccessful. Because the brain is in childish / regressed/ non-sophisticated function, and is no match anyway for the complexities of the almighty subconscious which has hijacked 95% of what is firing in our brain.
Rule of thumb is this: Any thoughts we have with high emotional content – if not healthy and great (inspiration /love) – cannot be challenged effectively with the logical mind.
Inspiration and love open up extreme and wonderful “possibility” in the cognitive mind. The subconscious and the cognitive mind team together as a powerful integrated force.
In stark contrast, fear and emotional pain snap that part of the brain off. The subconscious mind and the cognitive are not aligned.
This is when we are SO susceptible to handing our power over. This is when we play right into the abuser’s hands by losing our cool, pleading, prescribing, yelling, wanting revenge, trying to out-smart in ways that don’t work, wanting to expose, wanting to make the person accountable … and all we do is hand the abuser ammunition to shoot us with.
One of the biggest things about N-abuse is we are learning that when we are in high range beta-brainwave nothing good ever gets generated out of it.
The other terrible thing about ongoing swirling, pumping survival chemicals throughout your bloodstream being repeatedly absorbed into your cells is: it is “anti-life”. Your emotions spiral downwards, and these toxic (bad-feeling) chemicals create havoc in your body. They starve nutrients and oxygen, and they put you on a path of chronic deterioration.
A path sadly that most abuse victims are on –  with no education, way or process to get off.
The old Darwinian model states “You just weren’t ‘fit’ enough to win”, and the old Newtonian model states “Take a pill to treat your depression / anxiety / torment.”
However new science tells us that we do have the power to change ourselves. We do have the power to heal even a lifetime of abuse.
In order to change we need to unwire the peptide cycle and stop the ongoing damage and feedback loops of obsession and more chemical destruction, in order to get well.
How do we do that – according to epigenetics?
We change our cell’s environment.
How do we change the environment?
We need to understand we have no power to change people or things outside of us.
But we do have the power to change our perception. And to do this we need to change our consciousness.
That is how we create real lasting and powerful change.
I hope this article has helped you realise our world is evolving, and we can evolve.
We are far from powerless, helpless victims. The truth is we are powerful co-creators.

The Power of Kinship (KB)

The greatest gift we have is our ability to look at one another with tolerance and love. Not only when we dance and hold hands and look into each other’s eyes. Not only when we feel close to one another. No, this feeling of kinship must be there even when we disagree, even when we don’t see eye to eye. If we cannot maintain our sense of kinship under adverse conditions, we may as well take all of the positive moments we have had with the other person and just blow them away into the wind

On this day of your life

On this day of your life,
Neytiri & Jake, I believe God wants you to know...

...that imagination is your greatest gift. Do not be afraid
to use it.

Imagine yourself as being okay right now. Totally okay.
Imagine yourself as Whole, Complete, and Perfect. With
nothing to change, nothing to "improve."

Imagine your heart as being open again, your life as if it
were starting over in the most important ways.
Can you imagine this?

Then you have just created Tomorrow.

Creativity

The best way to predict the future is to create it. -Author Unknown

For most of my childhood I received the religious message that if God wanted you to have something then he (God was always a "he" in those days) would make sure that you got it. Also, it followed, if you didn't get something or have something in your life, it was because God didn't want you to have it. If you wanted something very much, then it helped to pray in church, light a candle, or put some money in the collection box. Priests suggested that God is pleased by a healthy donation! I didn't hear very much about creating what we wanted or needed in our own lives. The idea of "pray hard, but remember to move your feet!" was absent from my Sunday school. When I eventually heard the cocreation message (the concept of partnering with God to create what you want) at Unity of Christianity, it made so much sense; incidentally, it also made me successful. - Leo Booth

I am involved in my life and success.

Drumming (OM)

Heart Beats
The rhythm of drumming is easy for our bodies to take in as was the rhythm of our mother's heartbeat.

That rhythm renews us is no secret. Drumming is the oldest form of music on the planet. Virtually every culture that exists or has existed on earth has practiced some form of drumming. In Africa, the beating of a drum continues to be an important part of significant ceremonies and holiday celebrations. Native American cultures use drumming as a means to reconnect an individual’s mental and physical selves. Throughout history, drumming has been a part of performing rituals, marking significant transitions, and celebrating life’s cycles. Our lives are infused with rhythm beginning at the very moment we first sense our mother’s heartbeat in her womb.

All manner of drumming has the ability to put us in touch with our own natural rhythms, the rhythms of the earth, and the rhythms of the people we choose to drum with. The drum can represent the heart, and drumming awakens the mind while stirring the soul. Drumming can take you to a place deep inside you where you are keenly aware of your mind and your body, as well as the vital bond between the two. Much like human beings, each drum has its own vibration and voice. Drumming alone can help you release tension, dispel stress and aggressive feelings, and restore your energy. It can also give you an opportunity to reestablish your connection to Mother Earth, as the beat of a drum can represent a crack of lightning, pounding ocean waves, or the tumult of an earthquake.

Drumming with others brings with it many benefits. Taking part in a drumming circle attunes us to the invisible energy that exists between us while uniting us in a common purpose. Drumming can be relaxing as well as energizing. It quiets mental chatter and can create a peaceful meditative state. In Navajo lore, the drum is the Great Spirit’s favorite instrument. It is said that this is why all human beings were given a heartbeat. The rhythmic beating of a drum can move us into new realms of consciousness. There is no right or wrong way to drum, and everyone has the innate ability to create rhythm. When you drum with intention, you’ll discover the rhythms that move you.

Let the Light In (KB)

Oftentimes, many of strive for certain things in our life. We visualize ourselves building a hugely profitable business or we see that we want a certain relationship to work out. While such determination is great, we must always be cognizant of our spiritual journey and ask of the Creator, “If what I want is not the thing for me, if it is not the thing that I need to do at this time, then make it not happen.” Perhaps we are determined to go here or there with these people or those people, but consider this: Maybe if what we want never happens, we might find ourselves in a place that is ten times better for us.

No matter how perfect we think our plan is, we should always ask the Creator to be a part of our consciousness, so that even though we may have decided where we want to go, we are still allowing for an opening to change our mind. If we can do this at least for this month of Taurus—if we can open ourselves to new ideas and new relationships—then by the end of the month, we may find ourselves in a totally different space.

Let Your Whole Life And Living Become A Constant Prayer (EC)

Pray without ceasing. This does not mean you have to shut yourself away and spend hours on your knees praying. This means you go about your daily round but are ever conscious of Me, you are ever aware of My divine Presence in everything you do, that your whole life and living becomes a constant prayer because you are ever aware of our oneness and are ever listening to that still small voice within, that your mind is stayed on Me, that you wait in quietness and confidence for My instructions and simply remain in peace and stillness until I give you the green light to go ahead. Then without a moment's hesitation you go ahead and obey My instructions which come from within.

Judgment

Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? - Jesus (Matthew 7:3)

It is so easy to judge other people. I've been working on that character defect for years. However, when I get angry in my judgments of others it is usually because something is too close to home. I've been doing some serious work on myself lately. I'm especially attentive to examining my personal character defects. I write about them and see them for what they are-in a word, "insecurity." Slowly I'm beginning to heal. I'm also discovering as I do this work on myself that I'm less judgmental toward others. And I'm a happier person.

I belive that only when I can remove the specks that are in my own eye will I be able to love you.

How Energy Moves at Home (OM)

Home Flow
Keep the energy in your home vital by treating it as an important aspect of your life.

Our living spaces can become nurturing homes for our bodies and souls when we make sure that our surroundings accurately reflect who we are as individuals and who we aspire to become. No matter how positive and creative you may be in your inner world, if your home or work surroundings are contradictory or present energetic barriers, you are likely to find it difficult to manifest all that you desire. By paying attention to the flow of energy around you, you can align your inner intentions with your outer realities to make your life a conscious act of creation.

We can look to the ancient Asian art of feng shui for guidance. Since the words “feng” and “shui” mean “wind” and “water,” you may want to walk through your home and imagine the way these elements would flow through your space. You can evaluate whether or not your home is a balanced ecosystem that would allow a plant to flourish. A straight path between doorways would make nourishing elements rush right through, while a pleasantly meandering stream would instead create a flow that nurtures life. Look for signs of debris that might obstruct the flow of such a river. Clutter acts like hurdles placed in your path, blocking you from creating what you want in your life. Once the obstacles are recognized, however, they can be removed to let energy flow freely throughout your home and your life so that you can thrive.

Your home can be thought of as a symbolic metaphor for your life. A neglected space may correspond to a lack of growth in your career or personal relationships. By shifting your perception, you shift the way you direct your energy and attention, which can enable you to make the changes you need to actively create the life of your dreams. If you need some assistance, you can always turn to a feng shui practitioner, but the most important thing is that you understand what resonates with your core being in order to feel alive and nurtured by your home.

Going through the Opening (OM)

Contracting before Expanding
It is a natural part of being that our lives sometimes contract before expanding.

Sometimes our lives contract before they expand. We may be working hard on ourselves spiritually, doing good in the world, following our dreams, and wondering why we are still facing constrictions of all kinds—financial, emotional, physical. Perhaps we even feel as if we’ve lost our spirituality and are stuck in a dark room with no windows. We may be confused and discouraged by what appears to be a lack of progress. But sometimes this is the way things work. Like a caterpillar that confines itself to a tiny cocoon before it grows wings and flies, we are experiencing the darkness before the dawn.

When things feel tight, it’s easy to panic or want to act in some way to ease the feeling of constriction. We might also spin our wheels mentally, trying to understand why things are the way they are. However, there is nothing we need to do at this time other than to be patient and persevering. We can cling to the awareness that we are processing the shift from one stage to another, and the more we surrender to the experience, the more quickly we will move through the tightness into the opening on the other side. Just like a baby making its way down the birth canal, we may feel squeezed and pushed and very uncomfortable, but if we remember that we are on our way to being born into a new reality, we will find the strength to carry on.

Even as we endure the contractions, we can find peace within ourselves if we remember to trust the universe. We can look to the natural world for inspiration as we see that all beings surrender to the process of being born. In that surrender, and in the center of our own hearts, is a willingness to trust in the unknown as we make our way through the opening.

The Righteous Souls Among Us (KB)

They say that in every generation there are 36 righteous souls (Lamed Vavniks) who hold up the world and keep it from destruction. These are good, kind souls—spiritually elevated individuals who often can actually leave their bodies and travel to places bringing healing energy where there is suffering.

Occasionally, we are lucky enough to encounter one of these special souls, and if we’re open enough and attuned to hearing the message, we might be receiving a helping hand from one of them. The help could come in the form of someone coming along with a few simple words which can alter our life, or in the form of a sudden feeling of peace or calm in the middle of a difficult situation.

Today, be aware and present so you can hear and receive messages that may be coming to you. You never know who’s got your back.

Consciousness and the Unmanifested (ET)

When you dissolve psychological time through intense present-moment awareness, you become conscious of the Unmanifested both directly and indirectly. Directly, you feel it as the radiance and power of your conscious presence — no content, just presence.

Indirectly, you are aware of the Unmanifested in and through the sensory realm. In other words, you feel the God-essence in every creature, every flower, every stone, and you realize: “All that is, is holy.” This is why Jesus, speaking entirely from his essence or Christ identity, says in the Gospel of Thomas: “Split a piece of wood; I am there. Lift up a stone, and you will find me there.”

Another portal into the Unmanifested is created through the cessation of thinking. This can start with a very simple thing, such as taking one conscious breath or looking, in a state of intense alertness, at a flower, so that there is no mental commentary running at the same time. There are many ways to create a gap in the incessant stream of thought. This is what meditation is all about.

Thought is part of the realm of the manifested. Continuous mind activity keeps you imprisoned in the world of form and becomes an opaque screen that prevents you from becoming conscious of the Unmanifested, conscious of the formless and timeless God-essence in yourself and in all things and all creatures. When you are intensely present, you don’t need to be concerned about the cessation of thinking, of course, because the mind then stops automatically. That’s why I said the Now is an essential aspect of every other portal.

Surrender — the letting go of mental-emotional resistance to what is — also becomes a portal into the Unmanifested. The reason for this is simple: inner resistance cuts you off from other people, from yourself, from the world around you. It strengthens the feeling of separateness on which the ego depends for its survival. The stronger the feeling of separate- ness, the more you are bound to the manifested, to the world of separate forms. The more you are bound to the world of form, the harder and more impenetrable your form identity becomes. The portal is closed, and you are cut off from the inner dimension, the dimension of depth. In the state of surrender, your form identity softens and becomes somewhat “transparent,” as it were, so the Unmanifested can shine through you.

It’s up to you to open a portal in your life that gives you conscious access to the Unmanifested. Get in touch with the energy field of the inner body, be intensely present, disidentify from the mind, surrender to what is; these are all portals you can use — but you only need to use one.
