Happy New Year 2015 (KB)

When we greet our Creator, we won’t be asked, “Why weren’t you Moses or Gandhi or Mother Theresa?” No, when we return to our Source, we will be asked, “Why weren’t you…you?”

Today, as we stand on the brink of a new year, I’d like to share with you this short prayer I composed, which can assist us in asking the Creator to help us become all that we are meant to be this year: a whole and unique beacon of Light for our loved ones, our communities, and the whole world.

My Creator, though I am just a speck in this vast universe, may I be filled with your Light this year so that I can give whatever energy I am granted towards the benefit of another human being.

May I feel the power of my interconnectedness with all of humanity.

May I sit next to my brothers and sisters and feel love.

May I open my heart to the wisdom that I will receive, my head to the understanding of it, and my desire to put it into action.

May I judge less and learn more.

Lastly, may I take all of the energy granted to me this year and treat it as a letter that is unwritten. May I be the writer of my future, the author of pages yet unturned.

May my words be words of peace, words of kindness, words that tell the story of how the people in my life and the world at large have made better because of my existence.

Wishing you and yours a Happy New year full of love, life, health, and boundless blessings.

Karen
